Did you know that you could get Email alerts even without GPRS connection but as SMS? Well I’d would know if your a BSNL customer since they have advertised about Email2SMS option for subscribers and it costs around Rs. 30/month for the subscription. Well, Here is an alternative and this alternative is much more awesome since its FREE! That’s right, you don’t need to pay anything for this. Cool huh? Well give it a try!

Note : This Tutorial works for Indian Users only!

Firstly head over to Way2SMS and login to your account. (If you don’t have a Way2SMS account then simply signup!)

After that, click “Mail Alerts” tab and you could see a unique email id which is shown. The format would be like (random numbers)@way2sms.com, Take a note of this email id as you would need this for sure!

Now login to your email provider, Lets say you have GMail, So go ahead login to GMail and click Mail Settings at the top.

Select the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab and choose “Forward a copy of incoming mail to” option and enter the email address that you got from Way2SMS and Ensure you select the “Keep Gmail’s copy in the inbox” option. After that click Save Changes option.

That’s All, Now you will get new emails to your mobile via SMS!
